The Sheikh Zayed Academy for Boys is looking to appoint a Head of Digital Innovation to join our dedicated and talented faculty with an immediate start.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with the IT Manager to ensure the school has suitable infrastructure to support Digital Innovation.
  • Support teachers to plan and prepare for effective integration of digital and innovative approaches.
  • Line manage staff with Digital Innovation responsibilities.
  • Support teachers to use a variety of appropriate resources and teaching strategies, to create lessons which cater to different abilities to motivate and engage all students.
  • Assess quality and effectiveness of SZPAB’s Digital Innovation on a regular basis.
  • Lead the application of Apple Distinguished Schools and review regularly.
  • Mentor teachers through Apple designations to further develop the school.
  • Support teachers to utilize the best digital and innovative approaches to assessment and teacher/student dialogue.
  • Plan and deliver effective PD and support to all staff.
  • Research and trial new apps and approaches which could benefit the school.
  • Engage students and staff in digital citizenship and internet safety awareness.
  • Follow the phase / subject expectations in regard of communication with parents.
  • Oversee strategies to ensure appropriate use of iPads.
  • Support Phase Leads in meeting the school’s development plan through Digital Innovation.
  • Work with Phase Leads to monitor all online programs supporting curriculum ensuring ongoing renewals for needed programs.

Minimum requirements:       

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject      
  • PGCE or equivalent qualification in Education 
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience       
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check
