George Salter Academy is a friendly, happy and vibrant 11-18 academy, serving a multi-cultural community and we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Head of Geography to join us from Easter 2025, or before if possible.

The post-holder will provide professional leadership and management of Geography in order to secure high quality teaching, combining subject expertise with a passion for securing the highest outcomes. You will also play a vital role in fostering curiosity and critical thinking among our students. This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geography teacher looking to further their career.

The successful candidate will benefit from being part of Ormiston Academies Trust, a MAT of 43 primary and secondary academies. The Trust’s vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential. OAT support all staff so that they can enhance and develop their professional skills whatever their role within the trust.

George Salter Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in the West Midlands, serving students from the age of 11-19. The secondary school, situated in Sandwell has approximately 1,220 students on record. It is sponsored by the Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT).

George Salter Academy converted to academy status in 2007.
