The International School Brunei Secondary Section require an inspirational Head of Inclusion. The successful candidate will ensure that all students are successful no matter their background or needs and that they develop into independent and responsible young people.
ISB is a very inclusive school and educates students with a diverse range of additional needs. The ideal candidate will have experience of leading and managing a Learning Support department and/or being a SENCO. The school will consider candidates that are currently Learning Support Teachers responsible for key areas and/or candidates that are training as SENCOs.
The Head of Inclusion would build on the strong frameworks already in place to ensure that students aged 11-18 can access the curriculum through a differentiated approach and personalized support. The post-holder would work closely with the Whole School Head of Inclusion and the Head of Primary Inclusion as well as the Deputy Head of the Secondary School. Furthermore, the post-holder would lead, manage and support a large team of teachers and learning support assistants.

The successful candidate will have (minimum):
- a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- UK QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Qualifications relevant to supporting students with SEND and additional needs from assessment to support and provision development
The successful candidate will have experience of:
- Leading and managing an inclusion department and/or learning support area
- Leading, managing and supporting a team of teachers and/or learning support assistants

- working with students of diverse additional needs
- a fast-moving educational environment
- an institution which develops, promotes, and has implemented innovative education ideas and practices

International School Brunei was established in 1964 as a not-for-profit organisation with a Board of Directors to oversee the development of the school - a status that exists to this day.
In 2015 the school moved to a brand new 22 acre site on the outskirts of Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei Darussalam. At the same time, ‘The Residence’ a state of the art Boarding House, was opened to cater for up to 120 students aged 11 - 18.
ISB offers education from Nursery (2yrs) and the National Curriculum of England from Year 1 (4yrs old) to Year 9 (13yrs) followed by IGCSEs (14-16yrs)and the IB Diploma programme in the Pre-University section (16 - 18yrs).
ISB is non-selective, and currently has over 1100 students from over 40 different nationalities. Academic results are outstanding with IB Diploma results consistently above the world average. ISB students attend their first choice universities all over the world
In addition to the Bandar campus, ISB Seria, 1 hour from the capital, is the second campus which caters for primary students. The ISB Centre for Inclusive Learning opened in 2021 to support students with complex learning needs. An English Language Centre (ELC) and a CACHE Adult learning programme completes the ISB offer.
