Job overview

Are you an experienced and inspirational teacher of Drama and/or Music? Are you the kind of educator who gets the best out of students and staff? We are looking to recruit a founding Head of Performing Arts to create a centre of excellence here at Shrewsbury in India. The Performing Arts are expected to play a significant and substantive part in the way that we deliver the whole person education for which Shrewsbury is famed

Opening in August 2025, Shrewsbury International School India will be a boarding school for children from age 11 to 18. It will deliver a British Curriculum based upon the CIE Lower Secondary, through IGCSEs to A Level. In addition to the academic study of Drama and Music from Year 7 through to A Level, the Performing Arts Department will also be responsible for preparing students for Trinity College London qualifications.

Located in Madhya Pradesh, at the very heart of India, the school’s 150-acre campus will have exceptional state of the art facilities for the teaching and learning, alongside unparalleled provisions for co and extracurricular activities. This includes a significant investment in an impressive, dedicated centre for the Performing Arts.

The school is sponsored by Jagran Social Welfare Society (JSWS), a well-established and successful education provider based in Madhya Pradesh. JSWS already has 13 successful institutions within its portfolio, many of which it has built from the ground up. This role offers a rare opportunity to be part of bringing an extraordinary campus to life.

In addition to an attractive salary, the school’s Heads of Department will be provided with well-appointed accommodation, medical insurance, and an annual travel allowance. Full tuition fee remission at the school for up to two of their children is also offered. If the appointee’s children are not of an age to join Shrewsbury, full tuition fee remission will be offered at one of the local sister schools within JSWS.

To apply complete the TES application form by no later than 0900 (UK) on Monday 21st October 2024

Initial interviews will be online in w/c 18th November 2024.
