We are looking for a dedicated teacher and Head of School (m/f/d) who fosters a culture of excellence and is passionate about the transformative power of education.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Visionary Leadership: Lead the school dynamically and develop a vision that inspires students, staff, and the entire school community. This vision should reflect core educational values and a clear moral purpose.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic plan to ensure the school’s sustainable growth and continuous improvement, always placing the well-being of students at the center.
  • Promoting Excellence: Establish and maintain a center of educational excellence, characterized by high standards and innovative approaches.
  • Community and Collaboration: Work closely with coordinators and other departments to enhance and expand the school’s services.
  • External Representation: Act as a highly visible leader within the school and a trusted representative for the school community.

Your Profile:

  • Leadership Skills: You are passionate about the transformative power of education and bring solid experience in education, including at least four years of teaching experience.
  • Collaboration and Communication: You demonstrate a genuine commitment to collaboration, communicate confidently with diverse groups, and build trusting relationships with parents, students, and staff.
  • International Perspective: You adapt quickly to a dynamic international environment and meet the legal requirements for a work visa in Germany.
  • Safeguarding and Well-being: You share our commitment to protecting and promoting the welfare of young people.

About Potsdam International Primary School

The School International is a mixed, non-denominational school. The school provides a bilingual education with teaching in both English and German and is a free school educating students from first grade all the way up to Abitur (High School Graduation).

Values and Vision

The School International  holds the belief that children want to learn, and it is the school’s goal to make the best use of their talents and interests to develop each student into a well-rounded young person that is well prepared for a successful future. It believes in teaching all students important values such as tolerance, trust, mutual respect and friendship to help them grow in all senses; intellectually, socially, personally and emotionally. It is a school that is focused on collaboration and community as well as teaching students the advantages of individual study. There is a belief that children, parents and teachers are all responsible for ensuring that children manage to hit great heights academically.

The school offers “help me to do it myself” classes that teaches its younger pupils to study and concentrate with assorted learning techniques and goals, in addition to its use of Montessori training. It also provides a diverse and broad after school care programme. There is a great use of iPads, tablets and laptops to ensure the best learning technology available is utilised. Recent school events have included a successful 'Winter market' , whole school 'Reading days' and a carnival inspired 'Fasching' celebration.
