Taylor's International School Puchong is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Head of Curriculum Support for the Secondary School. This person will manage and lead a small team of teachers who support secondary students who have learning difficulties and others who support students for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL) 

Please note that there are two campuses for Taylor’s International School, one in Kuala Lumpur and one in a suburb of KL called Puchong. These campuses are 25 km apart. Both campuses have a vacancy for Head of Curriculum Support in the secondary section, so you will see another advert very similar to this one. Candidates will be considered for both vacancies unless they state specifically for one campus.

Key elements of this post include:

  • Assessment of Special Educational Needs at the admissions stage and recommendation for support levels where required. 
  • Assessment of English levels at admission to school and recommendation for action to be taken. 
  • Leadership and Line Management of the team of teachers in Curriculum Support
  • Liaison with the counselling department and the safeguarding teams
  • Quality management of teaching and learning in all classes with regard to EAL provision and catering for Special Educational Needs, through planning assistance, drop-ins and observations
  • Lead staff CPD and parent workshops in the fields of SEN and EAL
  • Liaison with outside agencies, including Educational Psychologists, Language Specialists, and other professional agencies with regard to students under the care of the CSU department. 
  • Building and maintaining a relationship of trust, discretion and openness with students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders
  • Professional and sensitive management of confidential information
  • Liaison with the CSU department in the Primary school to ensure smooth transition of students into secondary. 
  • Assessment of students and preparation of application and supporting documents for consideration by the examination board. 
  • Where authorised, arrangement of special provision for exam students.

Taylor’s International School, Puchong  offers an English curriculum with a Malaysian flavour, and is located in a residential suburb south of Kuala Lumpur, near to CyberJaya and PutraJaya. TISPC caters to students from Early Years through to Year 11. The school is part of Taylor’s Education Group, Malaysia’s premier private education group which operates Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur, together with Garden International School, and Nexus International Schools (in Malaysia and Singapore), The Australian International School in Malaysia, as well as Taylor’s University (Southeast Asia's No 1 private university). The School

The school opened in January 2015 in a new award winning campus, and follows the same ethos and direction as the older KL campus.

With a current enrolment of over 1300 (with over 30 different nationalities), with mainly Asian expatriates making up about 30% of the school population), approximately 14% of teachers at the school are expatriates; with the remainder of the teachers being Malaysian.

Taylor's International School offers a holistic education, and follows the National Curriculum of England at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, adapted for Malaysia, and also the IPC in Primary. All students study Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. The school follows IGCSE courses from CAIE.

The Taylor’s International School brand has a clear ethos by which all schools will deliver holistic education that provides a solid grounding in raising the academic achievement of all students through inquiry processes and active learning.
