The Post
We are seeking to appoint a new Head of the Pre-Prep Department to start in September 2025 to assist the Headmaster in implementing the aims and objectives of the school, particularly for the development and management of the Pre-Prep Department (Rising 3s - Year 2).
The successful candidate will be passionate about children’s education and will work as part of a dynamic team of outstanding Teachers and Teaching Assistants. Enthusiastic and inspirational, they will be able to nurture the children’s development through their innovative and exciting teaching practice, and be able to encourage the children to explore and question the world around them and learn from their stimulating environment.
The successful candidate will naturally possess excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills and will be able to foster positive relationships with the children, staff and the wider School community. They will be kind, caring and approachable and will be motivated to get involved with all aspects of our busy and vibrant School.
The School
Ashfold is a leading independent prep school for approximately 270 boys and girls aged 3-13 years. The School is set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty acre estate on the edge of the village of Dorton in the Buckinghamshire countryside, close to Thame, Oxford, Bicester and Aylesbury.
Alongside an excellent all-round education, we pride ourselves in offering children a wealth of opportunities to participate in sports, the arts, drama and music as well as a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. The school week runs from Monday to Friday and we offer optional boarding up to four nights a week, as well as a rich and varied extra-curricular programme.
