Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Year for our Year 9 students. We have non teaching Heads of Year for our KS3 students to assist with the transition from primary to secondary, building positive relationships with parents and outside agencies who are involved with our students to establish an excellent attitude towards learning, behaviour and attendance to enable them to achieve their potential.

The role is integral to ensuring that the student's welfare is supported; leading a team of form tutors, working with the pastoral team and Student Support and dealing with safeguarding issues.

You will have experience of working with young people within an educational setting and demonstrable knowledge with regard to child protection, behaviour management and attendance procedures. The role requires an empathetic attitude and resilient nature as well as excellent communication skills.
