About Us:

Warbreck Middle School is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Our dedicated staff work together to foster growth and learning, particularly for students with higher needs. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support to pupils with complex needs.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with two pupils at a time, offering personalized support to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting learning in and outside the classroom for high-need pupils.
  • Helping to implement individualized learning plans (IEPs).
  • Encouraging and motivating pupils to engage in their work and overcome challenges.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering differentiated instruction.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Promoting positive behavior management strategies.
  • Collaborating with other staff and specialists to ensure pupils receive holistic support.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Previous experience working with children, especially those with additional needs (preferred).
  • An understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavior management techniques.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards it).
  • Experience supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
