About Us:
Warbreck Middle School is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Our dedicated staff work together to foster growth and learning, particularly for students with higher needs. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support to pupils with complex needs.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with two pupils at a time, offering personalized support to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting learning in and outside the classroom for high-need pupils.
- Helping to implement individualized learning plans (IEPs).
- Encouraging and motivating pupils to engage in their work and overcome challenges.
- Assisting teachers in delivering differentiated instruction.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Promoting positive behavior management strategies.
- Collaborating with other staff and specialists to ensure pupils receive holistic support.
Requirements:
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Previous experience working with children, especially those with additional needs (preferred).
- An understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavior management techniques.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills.
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards it).
- Experience supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
