Job Title: High School English Teacher

Reports To: Head of English / Principal
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic High School English Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive and engaging English lessons to high school students, promoting critical thinking, literacy, and a passion for literature. The role requires excellent teaching skills, the ability to assess and support student progress, and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic English lessons across high school grade levels.
- Teach English literature, language, composition, and writing skills in alignment with the curriculum.
- Foster a stimulating and respectful classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate and engage in discussions.
- Assess and monitor student performance through assignments, projects, and exams, providing timely feedback.
- Support students in developing strong writing, reading, and analytical skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and assessments that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in English teaching.
- Actively contribute to the school’s extracurricular activities and events as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, teaching diploma, or equivalent).
- Minimum [3] years of teaching experience in high school English or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of English literature, language, and writing techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in English language and literature.
