Job overview

Lambourn Primary School set in rural Berkshire are looking for a unique individual for this exciting hybrid role. 

  • Term time only plus 3 days - 38.6 weeks per year (44.39 paid weeks)
  • Monday – Friday 7.30am - 2.30pm, total of 32.5 hours per week split between the 2 roles
  • Fixed term for 1 year with view to permanent position

Pay as follows;

  • Higher Level TA Range SCP9 (£25,622 FTE) to SCP12 (£26,950 FTE) 8.30am -2.30pm Monday to Friday
  • Breakfast Club Assistant Range SCP5 (£23970 FTE) to SCP6 (£24371 FTE) - 7.30am - 8.30am Monday - Friday

Reports to the Principal 

 Higher Level Teaching Assistant 

Job Purpose 

We are looking to recruit a HLTA with a difference, someone with ambitious values, a driven professional who is willing to work together with the rest of the team to drive our agenda of an excellent school provision forwards for our children. 

About you 

  • Are you an engaging individual who already works with primary school aged children
  • Are you someone who can support whole class & group learning
  • Are you familiar with 1-1 Intervention programmes
  • Are you able to assist with the planning, preparation and development of work programmes as well as prepare resources for all learning activities 
  • Could you take responsibility for aspects of class organisation, administration, and class/whole school displays 
  • Are you an organised, conscientious individual who can monitor, evaluate and record pupil progress and develop reports as directed 
  • Do you have experience or are familiar with Phonics schemes of work

Our HLTA’s are essential to the success of our school and work closely with our class teachers, you would assist in offsite activities, contribute to curriculum and classroom planning, in everyday activities and at meetings. You would be an advocate of wellbeing, great behaviour and personal development of all our pupils, whilst ensuring safeguarding protocol is adhered to. 

You should already hold a Teaching Assistant qualification, NVQ Level 4. In addition, a good standard of written and spoken English and Maths skills is essential to support children in both Key Stage 1 & 2.

Breakfast Club Assistant

Job Purpose 

An energetic individual who can provide a great start to our pupil’s days whilst attending Breakfast Club. 

About you 

Are you a professional who can welcome, make sure our children are fed, start their day with an educational activity which in turn will prepare them for the school day ahead. 

You’d need to maintain the online register and plan for the day ahead. Ideally you would hold a paediatric first aid qualification and food hygiene certificate Level 2, if not full training could be given.
