International Community Schools Abu Dhabi is searching for a passionate, dedicated, and dynamic Homeroom Teacher for FS1/2, Year 1, and Year 6. We seek British or Irish qualified and experienced Classroom Kindergarten Teachers who are committed to fostering a stimulating, inclusive, and engaging learning environment aligned with the British Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, incorporating a variety of teaching methods to engage young learners in a dynamic classroom environment.
  • Deliver lessons aligned with the British Curriculum, ensuring content is age-appropriate, developmentally suitable, and supportive of students' cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
  • Utilize a range of instructional resources, including digital tools, hands-on activities, and real-life connections, to enhance the learning experience.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the varying learning styles, needs, and abilities of students, providing additional support or challenge where necessary.
  • Establish a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages respectful interactions and active participation.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a conducive learning environment, addressing behavioral challenges promptly and constructively.
  • Foster a sense of belonging and community within the classroom, encouraging students to respect and support one another.
  • Regularly assess student learning through formal and informal methods, including observations, quizzes, projects, and discussions.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions.
  • Prepare detailed and timely reports on student progress, including termly assessments, and communicate effectively with parents through formal and informal channels such as parent-teacher meetings, progress reports, and daily updates.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, including teaching assistants and support staff, to plan and deliver a cohesive learning experience.
  • Engage in regular professional development opportunities to keep up-to-date with the latest educational practices, trends, and research.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, contributing ideas and feedback to enhance curriculum planning and school policies.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
  • Develop positive relationships with parents, encouraging their involvement in their child’s education and addressing any concerns or queries professionally.
  • Organize and participate in school events, such as parent workshops, student performances, and open days, to strengthen the home-school connection.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission and values by participating in extracurricular activities, school committees, and community projects.
  • Support the school’s initiatives, including sustainability, diversity, and inclusion programs, promoting these values within the classroom setting.
  • Act as a role model for students, demonstrating respect, empathy, and commitment to the school's ethos.
