Job overview

Shrewsbury International School, India

House Master/House Mistress from July 2025

Shrewsbury International School India seeks outstanding inspirational pastoral leaders to found and lead its boarding houses.

Opening in August 2025, Shrewsbury International School India seeks Housemasters and Housemistresses to found and lead its boarding houses. Boarding will be at the very core of how the school approaches education. Their boarding house will be the centre of gravity for each of the pupils. The house masters/house mistresses will need to create a real home from home where pupils can relax and make friends, as well as work.

Located in Madhya Pradesh, at the very heart of India, the school’s 150-acre campus will have unequalled world class educational and sporting facilities. The school is sponsored by Jagran Social Welfare Society (JSWS), a well-established and successful education provider. JSWS already has 13 institutions within its portfolio, many of which it has developed from the ground up. These roles offer a rare opportunity to be part of bringing an extraordinary campus to life.

In its first year, the school will have two boarding houses, one girls’ house and one boys’ house. Applicants for these posts are welcomed from those who have a genuine passion for education in a boarding context, and who relish the challenge of being part of founding a school that whilst delivering a whole person education true to Shrewsbury’s educational philosophy, will also have an authentic Indian identity.

The school will provide a boarding school education to pupils from 11 to 18 years old. It will offer a British curriculum based upon CIE’s International Lower Secondary Programme, followed by IGCSEs and A Levels. The school’s remarkable campus will provide pupils with access to an impressively rich set of opportunities through which they can explore where their talents and interests lie and go onto realise the full extent of their potential.

Those appointed to these roles will receive an attractive salary and be provided with well-appointed family accommodation within their boarding house. Additional benefits will include full tuition fee remission at the school for up to two of their children, and a generous discount for any additional children, medical insurance, and an annual travel allowance. Where their children are under the admissions age for Shrewsbury, full tuition fee remission will be offered at one of the local schools within the JSWS group.

To apply complete the TES application form by no later than 0900 (UK) on Friday 11th October 2024.

Initial interviews will take place online during week commencing 4th November2024.
