Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Humanities Teacher to join our educational institution. As a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Social Studies subjects to students, with a particular focus on Geography and Travel Tourism. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the humanities, a strong background in Geography or Travel Tourism, and a commitment to fostering critical thinking, cultural appreciation, and global awareness among students.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging curriculum for Social Studies subjects, including Geography and Travel Tourism, that aligns with academic standards and educational goals.
  • Classroom Instruction: Deliver compelling and interactive lessons, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and promote student engagement and participation.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop appropriate assessment methods to evaluate students' understanding and progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and their parents or guardians.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respectful behavior, collaboration, and active learning.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrate a deep knowledge and expertise in the field of humanities, particularly in Geography and Travel Tourism, and stay updated with the latest research and educational practices in the discipline.
  • Cultural Appreciation: Foster an appreciation for diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives among students, encouraging them to develop empathy, respect, and understanding for others.
  • Critical Thinking and Research Skills: Promote critical thinking, analytical skills, and research abilities through engaging activities, projects, and discussions that encourage students to think independently and develop informed opinions.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents or guardians, colleagues, and school administration, fostering collaborative relationships to support student success and overall school objectives.
  • Extra-curricular Involvement: Encourage students to participate in extra-curricular activities related to the humanities, such as geography clubs, debates, or cultural events, to enhance their learning experience and foster a sense of community.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Education, Geography, Tourism, or a related field is required. A master's degree or higher is preferred.
  • Teaching Experience: Prior teaching experience in Social Studies, Geography, or Travel Tourism is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Humanities: A genuine passion for the humanities, including History and Classical Studies, and a strong commitment to inspiring students' curiosity and love for the subject matter.
  • Knowledge and Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter. Familiarity with current educational trends, teaching methodologies, and technology integration in the classroom.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and concepts to students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents or guardians, colleagues, and school administration.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, plan lessons effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Adaptability and willingness to embrace innovative teaching methods and approaches to meet the diverse needs of students.
