The Role:
We are seeking a passionate IB Math and Chemistry Teacher to join our dedicated high school team. This unique role is ideal for educators who can inspire students in both Mathematics and Chemistry while contributing to a growing, interdisciplinary IB curriculum. As we continue to expand, we welcome candidates with IB DP teaching experience (SL/HL) and those who bring flexibility, innovation, and enthusiasm to help develop our program.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
- Teach IB Mathematics and IB Chemistry (SL/HL), delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme.
- Facilitate integrated Math and Science courses for Grades 9 and 10 as part of our Middle Years curriculum.
- Support students in preparing for internal assessments and IB examinations through individualized feedback and differentiated strategies.
Curriculum Development & Innovation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design engaging projects and cross-curricular learning experiences.
- Contribute to the development of a rigorous, student-centered curriculum that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry.
Student Support & Mentorship
- Provide academic and socio-emotional support, acting as a mentor to guide students in their learning and post-secondary aspirations.
- Foster a classroom environment where students feel challenged, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with colleagues, students, and families to support student growth and strengthen the school community.
- Maintain proactive, transparent communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and achievements.
Professional Engagement
- Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities, including IB training workshops.
- Contribute to building a collaborative, innovative culture within the faculty team.
Qualifications:
- Required: A teaching qualification or relevant credentials in Mathematics and/or Chemistry.
- Required: Proven experience teaching IB Diploma Programme Mathematics and/or Chemistry (SL/HL).
- Desirable: Experience in multilingual, international, or IB school settings.
- A deep understanding of the IB framework, inquiry-based teaching methodologies, and interdisciplinary learning.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- A commitment to fostering student curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.
