ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King's College, Latvia opened its doors in August 2017 and is the first British school in the country. Sitting on a site occupying 20,000 m2 within the Saliena development in Riga, Latvia’s capital city, the school offers the local and surrounding communities the opportunity to benefit from a quality British education, the hallmark of King’s College.

The school caters for children from the age of 2 years old (Pre-Nursery), through to 18 years old (Year 13). All year groups consist of 2 or 3 classes creating a highly collaborative environment.

At King’s College our pupils study in the British curriculum which is renowned globally as being the gold star of educational systems. Pupils learn through hands-on practical experiences that aim to enrich the whole child’s growth.

We're searching for a unique and talented new team member to join us to teach Key Stage 3 students General Science and Computer Science. The role would involve working with our 6 Key Stage 3 classes and an extremely experienced group of teachers in our Science and Computer Science departments. We can offer well behaved and motivated students, well resourced departments, excellent teaching facilities and highly collegiate colleagues. The role comes with a very competitive salary, relocation allowance, private health insurance and other benefits.

 

Our Key Stage 3 department is currently a trail blazing department for our new Global Study Platform. This means the successful candidate will be part of the roll out for using the learning programme Canvas to plan and deliver their lessons. The school is also developing its use of VR and AR in the classroom. It is a truly exciting time to join the team.

The position has arisen due to restructuring to provide additional leadership time for senior leaders in the school.

Ideally the candidate will be available to start as soon as possible although the school is prepared to wait until January for the right person.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

To facilitate learning in-line with the Inspired Teaching standards. To know the impact of your teaching and ensure that all learners make progress.

To aid and develop the school in line with the objectives stated in the school development plan and relating to group wide KPIs. Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school both inside and outside the classroom.

The school has been designed to hold approximately 580 pupils and will eventually cater for children from the age of 2 years old (Pre-Nursery), through to 18 years old (Year 13).  It currently offers places to children between the ages of 2 and 16 years old.  As these pupils progress through their academic journey, the school will expand to cater for pupils up to 18 years old.
