Queenswood School are currently looking to recruit an outstanding English Teacher to join our LIFE (Literacy Is For Everything) team! We are looking for an ambitious, energetic, and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, SEMH, ADHD and associated complex needs.


Queenswood School is set across two sites in a beautiful rural location in Herefordshire. We are an Independent Specialist day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 11 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum or have SEMH. We are looking for an experienced Lead for English across the school.


The subject leader will take lead responsibility for providing leadership and management for English/literacy, Humanities, Citizenship and IT to secure high-quality teaching and subject knowledge.


You will:

  • Oversee the planning of curriculum content to improve standards of learning and achievement for all, ensuring it is well sequenced to promote pupil progress
  • Ensure the planned curriculum is effectively and consistently implemented across the whole school
  • Work with teachers and other subject leads to build links between the LIFE curriculum and the wider curriculum
  • Ensure effective use of resources

Queenswood comprises of the main school site, The HUB (located off site) and 6 nearby residential homes. Whilst we enjoy a rural location, we are still well connected, just two miles from Ledbury train station, on a main bus route from Ledbury to Hereford and with good links to the M50.
