Learning Support Assistant 1:1 SEN Support

Salary: £18,324 - £18,887 p/a

Grade 1/2 Spinal Point 3-5

FTE £26,238-£27,030 p/a

(Inclusive of Outer London Weighting)

Required as soon as possible

30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time)

Fixed Term until 31st August 2024

To help us, we wish to appoint an experienced and high calibre 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work within our provision for hearing impaired pupils on a one to one basis with a child with SEN including an hearing impairment as soon as possible.

We are looking to appoint someone with the following skills:

• Has an NVQ 2 / 3 qualification in Primary Education and have at least Maths and Literacy GCSE at grade C or above.
• Has experience in working with deaf children.
• Has knowledge of British Sign Language (preferably at least a BSL level qualification).
• Has experience in helping develop children’s speech and language.
• Is an excellent team player.
• Has a calm, patient personality, who is highly organised and flexible.
• Someone who has the ability to engage and motivate pupils and can differentiate learning for SENs pupils where necessary.
• An enthusiastic, highly committed and flexible individual with excellent interpersonal skills and patience.
• Someone who is committed to working as a member of a team, and also shows initiative to work independently.
