We are currently looking for a dynamic, experienced 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Sherrardswood Senior School, in Welwyn.

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday to Friday, Term Time

Work Times: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

Salary: £16800 per annum

Start Date: Immediate start available

Your Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own learning, and take pride in their work
  • Personalise resources to meet the needs of an individual or a small group
  • Give support for increased self-esteem, self-confidence, and emotional skills development by encouraging pupils to build on existing effective relationships to share ideas and opinions with peers and adults
  • To work with the SENCO to ensure that the requirements of any EHCP are kept at the forefront of all planning for individual children
  • To assist with the class teacher in the effective delivery of the curriculum, under their guidance

About you

We are looking for someone who can be a role model to our pupils through personal presentation and professional conduct. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with children, preferably within an educational context
  • Knowledge of various special educational needs
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with children
  • A positive attitude
  • The ability to be flexible to the needs of the students
