Pay Range: Local Government Scale 5

Actual annual salary from: £18,915 - £19,896 (Point 9-12)

Hours: 32.30 hours per week (8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday)

39 weeks per year (term time plus non pupil days)

Start Date: September 2024

The Role

We are seeking an outstanding individual to work in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, The SEN Code of Practice (2015) and the Professional Standards of Teaching Assistants (2016) in addition to school policies and procedures.

Candidates should already have experience of working in secondary schools supporting students with SEND. You will take a lead role within our SEN Department and take responsibility for a key area of our work.

• This post is 32 hours 30 minutes per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time, plus non-pupil days)

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Oversee interventions designed to assist those individuals with social, emotional and mental health needs. This will include looking into what interventions we can setup and develop within the department.
• Collation of data and measuring programmes for interventions, being able to identify impact using the progress data, observations and both student and teacher’s feedback every half term or the length of the intervention
• Overseeing and delivering one-to-one or small group interventions as necessary.
• Be a key worker for SEN pupils.

We're looking for you if you have:

• GCSE A - C (or equivalent) Maths and English.
• Understand the importance of physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and their families and carers and other adults and overcome communication barriers with children and adults.
• Ability to understand and support children with developmental difficulty or disability
