Strothoff International School is a bilingual, international school. In our pedagogical concept, we follow both the Hessian education plan and the international IB curriculum. On our family-friendly and modern campus in Dreieich (near Frankfurt), we offer around 380 children and young people access to German-English language acquisition, starting in nursery, according to the immersion method. Learning Support Teacher
(part-/full-time, starting at new school year 2024/25)

Your Responsibilities
- Provide in-class support to students and teachers
- Ensure access arrangements are in place during examinations
- Provide individual and small-group learning support outside the classroom focused on literacy, numeracy and subject-specific assignments
- Conduct observations and administer standardized tests
- Take active part in curriculum differentiation, modification of content and development of tools, resources and materials that support student learning and teaching
- Facilitate the administration of school-wide tests (MAP) three times a year
- Work collaboratively with staff and parents to determine the adequate structure and amount of support for students referred to the TLS department, including participation in parent-teacher meetings
- Design and implement individual educational plans (IEP) for students with different needs, actively including them in the goalsetting process
- Write school reports for students receiving learning support
Your Profile
- Certified training as a primary teacher, with a degree in Special/Inclusive Education, Special Education Needs, education or equivalent, that leads to a teacher qualification
- Experience working in the area of Special/Inclusive Education and professional experience with the IB PYP/MYP programs is ideal but not essential
- Working proficiency in English and interested in working in an international environment
- Passionate and motivated to engage with our pedagogical concept

About Phorms School Frankfurt
Located in Germany, Frankfurt City, Steinbach (Taunus) near Frankfurt and Strothoff International School in Dreieich near Frankfurt are co-educational bilingual independent schools. The schools offer provision for students starting in nursery or reception, going up to age 18 and the end of secondary school. The reception, primary and secondary departments are all located on the Campus Frankfurt City. The nursery and another primary and secondary school are located on the Campus Frankfurt Taunus in Steinbach (Taunus) near Frankfurt. The curriculum in Frankfurt and Steinbach (Taunus) is primarily based around the German education system, with students working towards the German Abitur, a university-preparatory qualification, as well as optional North American-style Advanced Placement Programmes. The curriculum at the school also has strong English/German bilingual elements, with students being exposed to and taught in both languages at a young age. Our Strothoff International School in Dreieich offers education from kindergarten to Secondary School with the IB Curriculum.
The campuses have seen significant development and modernisation over the years, and as a result are able to boast of a wide range of teaching and recreational facilities. These include a range of new facilities added by the opening of a brand new purpose-built school building in 2011, housing a swimming pool, numerous modern classrooms, a basketball court, playgrounds and recreational areas for students at every level of the school.
Teaching Information
Teachers and Educators at Frankfurt work in a more flexible environment, with less conventional homework being set and smaller class sizes than other schools. Teachers and Educators all be expected to have a strong grasp of both English and German, and to hold appropriate educational qualifications such as a postgraduate diploma.
