Orchard Hill College is an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, November 2019) offering life-changing learning opportunities to young people and adults with a range of special education needs and/or disabilities. We have eight vibrant community-based College Centres across London and Surrey where committed, specialist teams deliver a range of programmes to meet the needs of over 400 students.
Students who study with us have a wide range of needs including profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties and specific medical needs. All students are individual and their learning programme is designed to support and empower them to achieve their aspirations and goals, whilst developing skills to become more independent members of their community.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer to join our dynamic teaching team. As a Lecturer at Orchard Hill College, you will deliver outstanding, person-centred teaching and learning to students with a variety of learning needs. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that inspire and engage learners, fostering a positive and nurturing educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality, inclusive, and engaging lessons
- Planning and developing innovative and relevant curriculum content tailored to the needs of individual students
- Assessing students' progress and providing constructive feedback to support their development
- Collaborating with other staff to ensure a holistic approach to student learning and well-being
- Maintaining accurate records of student performance and progress
Key Requirements:
· A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
· Experience teaching students with learning disabilities, autism, or additional support needs
· A strong commitment to inclusive education and fostering an accessible learning environment
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families
· Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the individual needs of students
