Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Medical Room Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis. 

You will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the Medical Centre working closely with the First Aid Leader. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual who is able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. The role will encompass

Duties will include:

·        assessment and treatment of minor illness and injuries

·        refer to individual health care plans for students with medical conditions and treat   accordingly

·        notify parents of any illness or accidents and treatments provided.

·        To input and update student medical information onto school database

·        To administer Rescue Medication when appropriate. This is to  be in accordance with Student Individual Health Care Plan / medical procedures and up to the level of the training received.

·        To replenish and maintenance of first aid equipment/stock.

·        To provide accurate, and complete records of student consultation,  consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.

 

The right candidate will demonstrate:

•           Knowledge and experience of providing First Aid and the care of children and young people.

•           Self-motivation and be confident in prioritising and able to work without supervision.

•           A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.

•           The ability to use relevant technology/ equipment.

•           Current recognised First Aid qualification or willing to undertake a 3-day First Aid training course and other appropriate training.
