We are seeking to appoint a Nursery practitioner to join our EYFS unit. Our Nursery has grown over the past few years and is now thriving offering care and education for 2, 3 and 4 years olds and their families. Working as part of our village primary school and alongside our Reception class, children here benefit from a curiosity based approach and beautiful outdoor space. We want someone new to help us continue our exciting journey and be part of our EYFS unit – someone experienced or someone new to this role (must hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, EYPS, EYTS or QTS) – we would love to hear from you.

At this time the role is for 2 days a week but with continued growth we hope this will become 3 days a week around Easter time with further opportunities for additional days to cover sickness, training and leadership release time.

Alongside the Nursery aspect, this role also involves supporting our Breakfast Club provision for the first hour of the day. Working alongside other support staff to prepare, serve and clear breakfast for a group of children and support them to play and stay safe ready to start their learning. This small but vital part to the role will enable Nursery children to access this provision alongside our school children.

We are seeking someone who is kind and caring and able to support our youngest children socially, emotionally and academically. We are looking for someone who is energetic, passionate, engaging and willing to be part of our wonderful team and community. The successful candidate will be flexible, supportive and willing to develop professionally. You will need to be organised, good with time pressures and able to work within a team. The right person will be creative, proactive and always child centred. You will need to plan and create activities, join in play with children, and model conversations alongside modelling key values around behaviour and safety. The successful candidate must be successful at creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere, developing and sustaining good working relationships and working wider than our setting, with our families, the community and the Trust. Our small village feel puts us at the heart of the community and collaboration is key to our success.

Visits to our Nursery are encouraged and phone calls with the Headteacher are also available. Further information is available on our website: www.westbucklandprimary.org.uk To seek further details or to book a tour or phone call, please contact the school office via email at office@wb.huish.education

Closing date for applications: Friday 13th December

Interviews: Tuesday 17th December

All applications must be made through the school TES portal.

Please note that we are unable to accept CVs.

The Trust reserves the right to appoint or withdraw this advert before the deadline, if necessary.
