Job Title:                Operations Manager

Grade:                     PO1 (£35,745 to £38,223)

Hours:                     37 hours per week, full time, all year round

Accountable to:    Academy Business Manager

 

Role:

To support the Academy Business Manager (ABM) on all operational aspects and day-to-day running of the academy. The Operations Manager will report directly to the ABM and ensure the academy operations are of the highest quality and that standards are maintained across the site. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Work with the ABM and the Site Manager, to regularly monitor the effectiveness of how resources are managed to deliver operational excellence at Leeds East Academy.

·        Adopt a positive, motivated approach to facilitate teamwork and good practice to achieve excellent standards of service delivery. 

·        Advise senior leaders to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements.

·        Undertake effective procurement exercises as directed by the ABM to ensure value for money and compliance with financial regulations.

·        Work with the Trust Finance Team to maintain the academy contracts, register for all supplies and services and align contracts across the Trust where practicable.

·        Oversee the operations and administration of the letting’s online portal, ensuring an appropriate structure is in place and processes are effective.

·        Work closely with the Finance Assistant and Site Manager.

·        Support the ABM regarding organisational change, lead and implement whole academy projects for new systems of work across operations and finance to maintain high standards.

·        To be responsible for the quality of service for contracts across the academy, such as catering, cleaning and IT etc…

·        To liaise with the catering contractor to ensure the catering provision provides best quality food and an efficient service to the pupils, staff and visitors in the academy, including any events. 

·        Assist the ABM in the completion of key statutory returns and reports to the LAB/Trust/Board.

·        Support the Office Manager operationally with coordinating any events.

·        Deputise for the ABM in their absence, seeking relevant authority where appropriate.

·        Working with the Site Manager, manage building and maintenance projects and maintain accurate information to assist effective monitoring to achieve the successful completion of the projects within budget as directed by the ABM.
