ECT or QTS PRIMARY TEACHER REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2024

We have an accessible needs-based curriculum that is rich and broad so that every single pupil can access. Merrywood's teaching pedagogy has been developed to keep teachers mental health in mind, with high levels of support to deliver quality teaching.

We are interested in speaking to newly qualified teachers as well as experienced teachers who may be looking for a career pathway change and have a passion for working with vulnerable children with additional needs. This is a permanent position to start in September or earlier, teaching KS1 or 2. Teachers from mainstream backgrounds looking to transition to SEND settings, are warmly encouraged to apply as we offer a seamless transition package. 


ROLE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Working with the Assistant Head to plan and resource teaching for learners of all abilities, school-wide.
  • Running a classroom with a team of two trusted adults in the room
  • Planning and delivering exciting lessons within a nurturing approach
  • Assessing pupils progression and identifying gaps and misconceptions in their learning
  • Support through CPD and through clinical supervision to understand mental health and child development on a deeper level
  • Delivering a social and emotional curriculum
  • Develop your teaching skills within SEND
  • Learning how to adapt and scaffold your lessons


THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Experience innovating to deliver the curriculum

Merrywood is committed to safeguarding every child and staff member in our care and as well as working with government safeguarding legislations we have an onsite therapeutic social worker and a trauma specialist educational psychologist. You will receive a high level of training around mental health, behaviours, preventative work around youth violence, exploitation and beyond. Our safeguarding framework has been created to support and identify children in need.
