Established in 2005, Gulf British Academy is a BSO-accredited school seeking a qualified and skilled FemalePE Teacher to join our team of specialists across Key Stages 2/3 and 4.

What you offer 

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the PE English National Curriculum and is able to teach the subject across Key Stages 2/3 and 4. The successful candidate would reflect upon and adapt practice to raise attainment while instilling confidence and independence into our pupils. The successful candidate would also commit to the successful and extensive after-school programme on offer at GBA.

Essential requirements  

  • Qualified Teacher Status: A degree qualification in teaching (e.g. PGCE or Bachelor’s in Education) with evidence of teaching Physical Education or sports science. 
  • Expert knowledge of your subject area as evidenced by your passion and CPD for various pitch and court focused sports and activities.  
  • Recent UK teaching experience or international experience within a British curriculum-based, BSO-accredited school.  
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.  
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and build good relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.  
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and/or police check.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace (Gmail, shared drives, forms, etc).


Desirable  

  • Your degree subject is in Physical Education. 
  • Swimming teaching experience to assist the Swimming Instructor as and when required.  
  • Familiarity with initiatives such as Philosophy for Children and Growth Mindset.  
  • Experience in leading netball and volleyball teams.
  • Experience of teaching GCSE PE.

Established in 2005, Gulf British Academy is an independent, co-educational, BSO, BSME and COBIS accredited school.

Curriculum

We work closely within the national curriculum for England to deliver creative and interactive programmes that develop our academic curriculum, pastoral care system and extra-curricular activities to ensure our children are happy and enjoy coming to school. This includes a house system, as well as Philosophy for Children and Growth Mindset initiatives. We also embrace Islamic culture and values through Arabic Language, Islamic and Quran studies in accordance with the guidelines of the Kuwait Ministry of Education.
