Primary Science Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of Primary Science Lead at Reigate Grammar School Phnom Penh. This position plays a key role in the continued growth and success of our school as we establish ourselves on our purpose-built campus in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We are a fully co-educational, all-through school, welcoming both Cambodian and international students from Early Years through to Sixth Form. Reigate Grammar School Phnom Penh (RGSPP) is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Primary Science Lead to oversee and develop the science curriculum across the primary phase. This role is directly accountable to the Head of Science (Senior School) and is responsible for ensuring high standards of teaching and learning in science.

The successful candidate will lead the development of primary science teaching, providing curriculum guidance, assessment strategies, and staff training. They will work closely with teachers to ensure that science lessons are engaging, inquiry-based, and accessible for all learners. They will also foster a love of science through enrichment activities, competitions, and cross-curricular initiatives.

As a valued member of the academic leadership team, the postholder will contribute to the academic, pastoral, and co-curricular life of the school, ensuring that science is embedded as a core strength within RGSPP’s primary curriculum.

Qualifications & Experience

• A degree in Science, Education, or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., QTS).

• Experience leading or coordinating science teaching in a primary setting.

• A strong understanding of primary science frameworks and best practices.

• Experience in curriculum planning, assessment design, and data analysis.

• Familiarity with the British curriculum (EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2) and international best practices.

• Experience developing extracurricular science programmes such as science clubs, competitions, or STEM initiatives.
