Nord Anglia Education, the world’s leading international schools organisation, is looking for a Principal to drive the development and ongoing success of our world-class international school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

About our School

The British International School, Ho Chi Minh City is the largest international school in Vietnam and a leading international school in South East Asia. Located in the vibrant Thao Dien area of Ho Chi Minh City, the school educates around 2,400 students from more than 55 countries. As one school operating from three campus sites, the school provides a top quality British style education in first class facilities resourced to the highest level. The National Curriculum for England, IGCSE and the IB Diploma are taught to English-speaking students from the Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 13. The Secondary Campus currently serves around 1050 students from age 11-18 and is continuing to grow as larger year groups progress through the school.

Rated ‘Outstanding in all Categories’ by the British government, our students get some of the best academic results in the world. We’re the highest-ranking International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) school in Vietnam with an average score of 36.1 in 2024 against the global average of 30.3. In fact, we have been consistently 6-7 points above the world averages every year for the last 10 years. Our students' great achievements unlock a world of possibilities – including pathways to the world’s best universities. Furthermore, our exclusive collaborations with prestigious institutions such as UNICEF, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the world-leading performing arts school Juilliard mean we’re at the forefront of educational thinking, while creating life-changing experiences for students.

Each Nord Anglia Education school is unique in character and designed to meet the needs of its community. We are united by our philosophy, to be ambitious for our students, our people, and our schools. We believe that being part of our family of 87 schools gives each a special advantage. Working together, we can achieve more than we can individually. Our schools have access to a wide range of resources and support to enhance their success.

The Role

Working with the three Heads of Campus, the Principal will be expected to maintain the inspection rating of ‘Outstanding’ through a process of continual development and refinement of teaching and learning strategies and ideas. In addition, there will be other key objectives in the school development plan measured by key performance indicators covering pupil numbers, revenue generation, cost control, resource utilisation, staff development and Health & Safety.

 The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a creative and pragmatic mind with the ability to lead innovations in teaching and learning and the broader activity of the schools;
  • Lead with a strategic and decisive style, suitable for a highly successful school within a competitive environment;
  • Demonstrate understanding of how to create and innovative and purposeful curriculum using contemporary international thinking to create a distinctive positioning for the school;
