Job overview
The Governors of King’s School Rochester are seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational Principal to lead the School Rochester into the 2030s. The King’s School is set in the heart of Rochester Cathedral’s Precinct and as such forms part of a wide and yet close knit, caring community.
King’s School Rochester is a co-educational, independent school with 650 pupils between
the ages of 3 and 18, including 50 boarders and comprises a Nursery, a Pre-Preparatory
School, a Preparatory School and a Senior School. The size of the School creates a strongly supportive, friendly atmosphere with an emphasis on excellent academic results within a full and rounded co-curricular programme. King’s provides a happy learning environment which is underpinned by a strong sense of care, kindness, moral values, self-discipline and emotional intelligence, giving pupils the courage and confidence to be their best.
Governors are looking for a candidate with a track record of successful school leadership in a similar setting and the field is also open to those who are interested to step up to Principal having, for example, been an established senior deputy elsewhere.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated leader to play the
central role in leading the strategic direction of King’s Rochester, to build on the School’s
firm foundations with energy, flair and imagination.
The recruitment process is being managed by the School’s recruitment partner, Regroup Consulting. For further information and details of how to apply please see the associated candidate brochure, and contact Monika Fryzicka via email monika@regroup.consulting or (+44) 0203 62 321 60.

ISI report
“The pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent. Pupils demonstrate mutual respect, a strong sense of fairness and excellent behaviour. There is an easy mix of the different cultures within the school. Pupils develop well in knowledge, skills and understanding. Some more able pupils achieve excellent standards in activities, for example in music, individually in sports, and in the performing arts.”
