Job overview

JOB PURPOSE

You will support China International Schools to operate the highest standards of safeguarding.

The role entails reviewing annual safeguarding self-assessments and validating results through in-person visits and online review meetings. You will support and hold schools accountable for rectifying identified areas of concern, working with the school safeguarding lead, principal, and other school staff. You will support schools during a crisis or emergency, working with the school and Group Head of Safeguarding, Group Head of Communications and COO.

As an experienced safeguarding leader, you will work collaboratively with the Group Head of Safeguarding to deliver Level 3 safeguarding training across the region and ensure colleagues have up to date information on policies and best practice. NAE has a strong focus on wellbeing and you will work alongside school and central colleagues to promote and drive wellbeing initiatives across the region.

As a data informed organisation, you will be responsible for reviewing school safeguarding data, identifying patterns or anomalies, and supporting schools to make changes that positively impact students or staff. You will support the due diligence process for potential acquisitions and guide new schools through the transition process, ensuring they adopt NAE policies and practice in a timely and safe manner.

You will be an ambassador for the region, participating in activities that further enhance the experience for schools. ENGAGEMENT AND INTERACTION

You’ll develop highly collaborative relationships that can provide support and constructive challenge to leaders in school.

You’ll:

  • Develop excellent relationships with all key stakeholders internal and external.
  • Provide guidance on best practice in safeguarding.
  • Review safeguarding and outcomes with relevant school staff. 

FUNCTIONAL AND OPERATIONAL EXPERTISE

You’ll bring credibility, expertise and insight to the role, building high-trust relationships with schools that support school leaders in enhancing school quality and capacity for excellence.

You’ll:

  • Support and challenge schools to adopt best safeguarding, child protection and child protection practices.
  • Supporting the management of safeguarding incident reviews, and action plans.
  • Train staff in safeguarding, student wellbeing and child protection.
  • Support the development, reviewing and updating of existing training packages.
  • Contribute to development and reviewing of safeguarding and wellbeing policy documents.
  • Advise schools on specific child protection cases and school improvement.
  • Collating and analysing data and supporting schools to improve in identified areas.
  • Ensuring safeguarding incidents are escalated as per NAE policy.
  • Providing support to schools of concern.
  • Conducting audits and reviews in regional schools covering safeguarding and wellbeing.
  • Providing succinct analytical feedback reports for schools and other stakeholders as required
  • Sharing good practice and lessons learnt following incidents.
  • Working with both regional and central teams to ensure that safeguarding is embedded in cross cutting streams of work.
  • Contribute to other safeguarding/wellbeing work as requested.
  • Helping schools to achieve the highest safeguarding/ inspection and or judgements internally and externally.

EXECUTIION

You’ll be outstanding in everything you do. You’ll build great relationships right across Nord Anglia and beyond, to execute our plans.

You’ll:

  • Implement and manage the QA processes, in line with the NAE global QA and Safeguarding frameworks and communicate these clearly to all schools in region.
  • Ensure schools are meeting local requirements in safeguarding.
  • Act as a role model, offering advice and support to schools, the Regional Team and other members of the Central Education Team on regional safeguarding issues.
