Job overview

Who We Are?

Wemms is a co-educational independent SEN School. Students, staff and parents agree that this is a school where magic happens. The school can cater for children from age 10 to 20. Set within nine acres of beautiful Surrey, our grounds are simply breathtaking and inspiring. Please look at our website here www.wemms.co.uk to find out more about us. We are incredibly proud to support children who struggle in a mainstream setting for various reasons. Most of our students are neurodiverse, and we can cater for students that are autistic, ADHD, AuDHD and demand avoidance. We are determined that all our students have an opportunity to gain outstanding academic qualifications. When a new student joins Wemms, they become part of the “Wemms family” that nurtures them towards a fulfilled, successful and independent life. We offer a varied curriculum with a holistic approach to learning. Learning and timetables are tailored to each student. We offer a holistic approach to education and teaching is carried out in very small groups or on a 1:1 basis. We empower our students and staff to have high expectations, to work in collaboration, to support each other, to have a voice and feel that they belong. The Principal is creative, inspiring, open minded, a team player, courageous, kind, dependable and honest. He is continuously fostering a culture of inclusion for all. Wemms strives every day to meet the needs of all students and ensure that staff are happy, supported and feel part of the Wemms family.

At Wemms we believe that exam results fall naturally out of dynamic education and that GCSEs should be taken then the student is ready. Expectations are high: six or more GCSEs at level 4 and above, including some top grades, and the opportunity to stay until students are 20 to get a great portfolio for level 2 and 3 qualifications.
