Hours of work: 2 days per week, Thursday 08:45am - 4:30pm, Friday 08:45am - 3:15pm

Salary information: Scale 4, £8,845 - £9,253 per annum (dependent upon experience) + Special Schools Allowance, £462

Meadow High School is a special needs school, which provides education for secondary aged students aged 11-19 years with moderate and complex needs including autism. The school had received a ‘Good’ grade by OFSTED.

The successful candidate for the Science Teaching Assistant position will support a dedicated team of science teachers and the subject lead. The key responsibilities include assisting students in the classroom, preparing for science lessons and experiments, and sourcing, ordering, and maintaining resources. This rewarding role is ideal for an enthusiastic team player with knowledge of working with materials and equipment. The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly and meet deadlines.

  • Hold an NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants. (Essential)

  • Ability to think creatively and demonstrate initiative, dealing calmly with different situations as they arise. (Essential)
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures detailed in the School’s safeguarding policy. (Essential)
  • Contribute positively to the overall ethos, objectives and aims of the School. (Essential)
