British International School of Tbilisi (BIST) is looking to recruit dynamic, committed staff members for our exciting and unique independent school. BIST currently provides for approximately 500 children aged 3 to 18 from over 54 countries. Our modern purpose-built campus, extending over 15,000 square meters, is situated next to a natural lake on the hills overlooking the city. The state-of-the-art facilities incorporate many important features that support innovative teaching and learning in the 21st Century. We adapt the English National Curriculum alongside the International Primary Curriculum to offer a creative and flexible curriculum that leads to Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels at Key Stages 4 & 5. BIST is a Patron's Accredited Member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).

Secondary teachers will be expected to teach their subject to A Level and to prepare students for world class universities.

The successful candidates will have recent UK/international experience, be highly motivated, well organized and possess UK qualifications (or equivalent internationally recognized qualifications). An understanding of the benefits and challenges of living in a rapidly developing country is an advantage.

We believe that education is essential for achieving success in a rapidly changing world.  We offer a dynamic, creative and supportive learning environment in which students of all abilities are encouraged and have opportunities to realise their academic and personal potential. Class sizes are small with an average of less than 20 students per class. Our classrooms are well-resourced with books and learning materials. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive Smartboard. ICT contributes to learning and teaching in all areas and is integrated into subject teaching throughout the curriculum. The school has a swimming pool, astroturf pitches, basketball and tennis courts, learning gardens and wonderful adventure play areas in its spacious grounds.

Our Primary Curriculum (Years 1-6) follows the International Primary Curriculum and the English National Curriculum. Classteachers are supported by specialist teachers in some subject areas such Art, Music and PE and each class has a dedicated Learning Support Assistant.
BIST follows the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Cambridge IGCSE and A Level programmes at Key Stages 4 and 5. Our wide range of subjects are all taught by specialists in their field.
