Secondary Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Secondary Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a Academy based in Enfield.

Location: Enfield – easily accessible from central, north, and east London, as well as surrounding areas.

Salary: Support Band 6 ranging from 8-19 £27.655-£32,828 depending on experience.

Working pattern: working hours to be agreed with successful candidate- term time only between 32- 40 hours per week.

Contract: Permanent

Start date: September / October 2024

Closing date: 31st Aug 2024 09.00am

The Role:

As a HLTA, you will undertake the duties of a teaching assistant as well as providing specialist support to groups or individual pupils in their learning. You will work with the Deputy SENDCo to support the professional development of other members of the SEND team and contribute to staff training if required. You will support teachers in establishing a nurturing learning environment in which children make good academic progress and you will be instrumental in their mission to provide every student, regardless of their background, a great education and real choices in life.

You will: 

• Assist with the planning and adapting of learning activities for the child/children you work with
• Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers and parents on achievement, progress, problems etc.
• Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
• Support and develop the practice of other members of the SEND team, as directed by the Deputy SENDCo.
• Provide enrichment activities.
