TLC is an independent day special school for children and young people with SEMH, ASD and associated learning and communication difficulties. It is part of Melrose Education limited. 

Our nurturing, independent SEN secondary school have an opening for a SENCo to join our supportive, 'Good' (Ofsted 2022), committed and enthusiastic team as of Autumn Term 2024. This position is for either 2/3 days a week or full-time (includes some teaching responsibilities).

We are seeking to appoint a newly qualified or experienced SENCo that has the appropriate qualification or experience to join our team, with leadership experience, as the SENCo will join the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the SEND provision, managing our TA team and will be an exemplary practitioner.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience or an exceptional understanding of teaching in secondary and/or SEND provision

• Hold the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination or other SENCo qualification

• Have an excellent understanding of the SEN Code of Practice

• Have both an excellent understanding of pupil progress and a willingness to embrace change

• Be open to new approaches to teaching and learning

• Be an excellent team player
