We deliver programmes for learners working at pre-entry levels up to level 1 with a wide range of learning needs such as PMLD, MLD, medical/physical needs etc, most of whom have an Education Health Care Plans (EHCP) across our Truro, Tregye and Penwith Campuses. As an SEN Specialist Lecturer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons tailored to students’ individual needs, with an emphasis on monitoring and tracking progress. You will work closely with the support staff, parents/guardians, and external professionals to ensure all students receive the input they need to make progress towards their EHCP targets in order to prepare for adulthood. Due to the need to travel between our campuses, the successful applicant should have the ability to drive. Your role will involve adapting teaching strategies to suit diverse learning needs and fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere.

We are looking for someone who works with confidence with a variety of ability levels, who is a committed team member/leader and is passionate and knowledgeable about SEND. The successful applicant will be expected to provide high quality teaching on education programmes, and to contribute to providing an outstanding learning experience for our students. 

The successful candidate will be an exceptional teacher with sound pedagogical theory and practice, who has a ‘can-do’, flexible and creative approach to teaching learners with a variety of SEND across the Pathways courses. We are seeking applications from a range of specialist professionals who may have particular experience in working with learners on sensory curriculums, those with PMLD, those using AAC (assistive, augmentative, communication) devices and/or other areas of need.

*Salary as advertised is based on a qualified lecturer. Non-qualified applicants will be considered but will be paid on a non-qualified lecturer scale.
