Salary:

Role 1: SEND Teaching Assistant

Scale 3, spine points 5-6 (£28,521-£28,929 per annum, full time equivalent). Actual pro-rata salary: £19,534-£19813 per annum

Role 2: Midday Meals Supervisor

Scale 1, spine point 3 (£27,729 per annum, full time equivalent). Actual pro-rata salary: £3,364 per annum

The above salaries will be paid on an annualised basis.

Contract: Fixed Term (until 31st August 2025)

Hours: 8.30am until 3.30pm Monday to Friday (term time only, including inset days) 

The Midday Meals Supervisor duties will be incorporated into the hours of work

The Role:

We are seeking to appoint a hard-working, well-motivated, flexible teaching assistant, who is able to work as part of the team in supporting children with complex special educational needs. 

The role is to work under the direction of the SENCo or lead teacher to work with pupils who have complex SEND needs, such as language delay, Global Development Delay, ASD and Down Syndrome. You must be able to interact and engage with pupils to help them achieve their best, be flexible, committed and demonstrate a professional approach in your interactions with both children, staff and external agencies.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the knowledge and experience to support children at all development stages, or the passion to learn.
  • Recent experience of working with children with special educational needs and ASD would be a particular advantage. Alternatively, an understanding of early development stages and how best to encourage and develop
  • Be enthusiastic, resourceful, creative and keen to ensure that the highest possible standards of children’s achievement, personal development and well-being are achieved, including supporting intimate care, physiotherapy routines, eating and social development.
  • Educated to GCSE level standard or equivalent with passes including English and Maths at Grade C or above.
  • Recent and relevant experience of working with children across the primary age range, 3 – 11 years. Experience of working with children with special educational needs would be an advantage. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability in the role, you may be working with a whole class, a small group or individual children 
  • A desire and enthusiasm to make a difference for our children with a caring and approachable nature
  • High expectations for all pupils 
  • To be highly motivated, have strong team working skills and be able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents
  • Educated to GCSE level standard or equivalent with passes including English and Maths at Grade C or above.
