Our SEND team is expanding and we are seeking additional SEND Teaching Assistants for 27.5 hours per week. We provide excellent support and guidance to successful candidates at all levels of prior experience from a dedicated and experienced team. 


The post holders' responsibilities may also include providing small group or one to one support; general classroom support. The role also includes developing resources and liaising with teaching staff in the development and delivery of a differentiated curriculum to meet the of SEND students and then support students in their integration into the curriculum.


*Please note: whilst we would prefer full time roles ideally, we would also consider applications from candidates who wish to be considered for part time, for example those who can offer 3 or 4 days. Please state this on your application form.


There are also possibilities and opportunities for SEND staff who are able to work during lunchtimes (lunch duties) and/or possibilities after school to extend your hours to work with our SEND or for additional curriculum needs for EHCP students and/or to enhance our enrichment opportunities in a variety of areas.

You should have:

  • Practical skills and expertise as outlined in the Job description including GCSE Maths and English at least at grade 4 or equivalent
  • A passion and vision for working with students in their personal, social and emotional needs as well as their academic development
  • The ability to stimulate curiosity, interest and enjoyment in learning
  • Confidence in dealing with students across different age ranges particularly Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Creative skills and a professional approach
  • The determination to support in raising student achievement
  • Team-working skills
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills with students, colleagues and parents
  • An understanding of the importance of Safeguarding.
