About the Role

Morley College London is seeking an inspiring, creative Vocal Studies Tutor to develop and deliver a range of taught group classes from beginners to advanced, and a choral group for beginners.

At Morley, we are committed to providing an inclusive and diverse learning environment. We particularly welcome applicants from under-represented communities and groups, ensuring that our team reflects the diversity of our student body.

About the classes: A range of taught group classes from beginners to more advanced singing students are available, some with collaborative pianist support. You will guide students to foster their individual growth in technical, musical, and artistic skills through a range of appropriate and varied repertoire underpinned by sound technical knowledge and insight.

About the choir: Created for those with little singing experience, this choral group is designed to develop confidence, awareness of healthy vocal production, and making music together through the exploration of new, fun repertoire.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, deliver, develop, and evaluate group singing classes, and beginners’ choir.
  • Select music and/or write arrangements to meet student needs and learning goals.
  • Mentor and guide students, fostering their individual growth and musical skills.
  • Collaborate with fellow tutors and staff to contribute to the vibrant musical culture at Morley.
  • Participate in and contribute to college events and concerts, as appropriate.

Morley’s Waterloo Centre for Adult Education is one of the UK’s oldest and largest specialist providers of adult education, founded in 1889 by activist, feminist and educationalist Emma Cons.

Our Waterloo Centre is here for the curious – for those who want to learn while joining others in their pursuit of knowledge. It’s a cultural hub for adults.

A place to learn and discuss what you’ve learnt since 1889. Because it’s not just about what you learn – whether it’s a new language, sound engineering, jewellery making, childcare, medicine or maths – it’s about the people you meet along your journey.

Ever since our inception, we’ve believed that education and socialisation go hand in hand. So our Waterloo Centre for Adult Education offers the courses you need to continue your education. It’s a place to continue learning – from us and each other.

Our expert tutors are well-known professionals in their fields, with bags of knowledge and passion. So you could experience learning with artists, musicologists, scientists and more.
