Sixth Form Study Supervisor

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Sixth Form team as a Study Supervisor. This is a key role, providing supervised study sessions and offering guidance to students as they navigate the demands of their academic journey. The ideal candidate will help foster a productive and supportive learning environment while assisting students with their progression, including university applications and career planning. This position is particularly well-suited to recent graduates aspiring to build a career in teaching or education, offering opportunities for further training and career development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervised Study Sessions: Oversee and manage study periods to ensure a calm and focused learning environment, working across all subjects and departments to maintain high-quality provision.
• University and Career Guidance: Support students with university applications, including personal statements, references, and decision-making, while providing advice on career pathways.
• Pastoral Support: Offer care and guidance to students, addressing any academic or personal concerns and signposting additional support services as needed.
• Behaviour and Conduct: Encourage and model appropriate behaviour, guiding students to develop strong study habits, discipline, and respect for others.
• Relationship Building: Develop strong, positive relationships with both students and staff to create a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with a small, welcoming team to support the Sixth Form’s goals, contributing to a diverse and dynamic environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Ideally a graduate with a keen interest in education, teaching, or supporting young people.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage group dynamics effectively.
• A positive attitude and a commitment to fostering a supportive and respectful learning environment.
• Prior experience in an educational setting (desirable but not essential).

As this role will involve contact with children we will take up at least two references before interview asking about your suitability to work with children.
