Salary:    Band 5-7 (£28,407 - £43,742) Actual salary prorated to term time £9,301-14,323 depending on skills and experience

We are looking for someone to provide a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy provision within our educational establishment for students with Visual Impairment and additional needs. You will be a source of clinical expertise and advice on Speech and Language Therapy working with other therapists, colleagues, students and their families and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure effective interventions and outcomes.

 

Some of the main duties of this role include:

·        Independently planning, managing and prioritising a case load of students at Dorton College to meet individual requirements whilst being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work and without direct supervision

·        Using advance clinical reasoning skills to accurately analyse and interpret highly complex assessment findings from both standardised and non-standardised assessments.

·        Accurately analysing and interpreting complex clinical and social information from a range of medical reports including Social Services and Education reports and integrating into SaLT assessments, reports and strategies.

 

The ideal candidate must have a Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and HPC. The ideal candidate will also have clinical experience of students with complex special needs; able to work independently, ability to develop clear therapy plans based on best practise and an awareness of current legislation relating to students in education.

 

No prior experience of working with VI children is necessary.
