The Schools:

The postholder will be required to work between our two well-established schools: Newbury Manor School and North Hill House, as well as in our new opening: Fromefield Manor which will be opening in September 2024. Newbury Manor school is a specialist school for 62 pupils aged 6-19 who have autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of needs; from those who are broadly average in their ability, to others, who have more severe learning difficulties.

We provide a total environment where young people are offered safe, secure and predictable surroundings in which they can come to understand their own areas of difficulties and learn skills and techniques in order to overcome them. This ensures that they can fulfil their potential socially, academically, physically and spiritually and enable them to rebuild their low self-esteem and self-belief.

Set in its own grounds close to Frome town centre, North Hill House is an independent specialist school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties. The school has been specifically designed to provide a strong focus for both UK and international students who need different levels of support to succeed, thus allowing young people with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties to thrive effectively in an ever-demanding and complex society.

Fromefield Manor School will be a new SEN school located in central Frome, Somerset and will be a special school for up to 30 pupils, aged 11-19 who have a diagnosis of autism with associated complex needs. Fromefield Manor will be operating through a Total communication approach and so experience of working with pupils with ASD and some knowledge of the use of TEACCH, PECS systems and communication aids would be desirable.

At Aspris Children’s Services, we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you. If you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills, and life experience, we will give you all the training and support you need to progress!

The successful candidate will be registered and will hold a profession specific qualification.
