The Park School Provision

The Park School is a specialist school with 110 places for students aged 11 – 16 years olds with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs. We are fortunate to be situated in a beautiful site in Woking. Our school is part of the Weydon Multi Academy Trust (WMAT), working with other great schools which makes us stronger together.

At The Park School, we match high levels of ambition with nurture so that our students can flourish. We work in collaboration with our families, therapy teams and other agencies to achieve the best outcome for each young person. Through a rich and personalised curriculum, we provide an excellent education for every learner. Students access a range of qualifications including GCSEs, BTECs, Entry Levels and ASDAN awards. We bring learning to life by offering an array of trips, visits and experiences, and making good use of our local area and beyond.

Staff strive to cultivate a calm, purposeful and inclusive environment rooted in mutual respect and positive relationships. We encourage everyone in our community to follow our three school rules: to be safe, to be kind and to be our best self. Our philosophy is underpinned by the concept that all behaviour is a means of communication. Staff access continual professional development to enable them to support each individual student effectively.

Our focus is on long term life outcomes, aiming to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and values they need to reach their unique potential. We foster a growth mindset so that students learn to overcome barriers and challenges. During their time with us, students are well-prepared for life after The Park School through their PSHE and careers programmes, work experience and Year 11 weekly college link programme. We encourage our students to be independent, to self-advocate and to be their authentic selves. We help students to develop the foundations needed to grow into valued members of society, successfully navigate adulthood, and lead happy and fulfilling lives.

If you would like to arrange a visit to the school or have any questions about the role, please contact Helen O'Connor, Operations Manager via email: admin@thepark.surrey.sch.uk

The Park School is a mixed Special School for students aged 11 to 16 with EHCPs for Learning and Additional Needs, drawing students from a wide range of socio-economic groups and from a wide radius. We have the same expectations as a mainstream secondary school and offer a secondary curriculum model. Our focus is very much on outcomes at 16, aiming to equip our students with the best academic and social and emotional foundations for adulthood. The staff team are committed to providing a vibrant, supportive, and purposeful atmosphere within a safe environment in which all our students thrive. We offer a rich, creative, and personalised curriculum that meets individual needs, enabling students to fulfil their potential.

We are part of Weydon Multi Academy Trust, a dynamic, forward thinking and innovative Trust. We are currently seven schools - three special schools and four secondaries. There are regular opportunities for collaborative working, CPD and the sharing of expertise between staff across the schools.

As a trust our vision is that we are stronger together, our intention is to transform lives, and we create memories which are celebrated for a lifetime. Our focus is on people; the adults and students that form the school and trust community.
