Position Information 
Holsworthy High School is in the Liverpool Area of Southwest Sydney and has 654 students. The school has a diverse multicultural community, with 51 EAL/D students and 43 Aboriginal students. Holsworthy High School also has 57 students from Defence Force families who are well supported by a Defence School Mentor (DSM).  A Special Education unit caters for students with a mild intellectual disability (IM) and autism (AU).  There is a very well established and effective Community of Schools group with high quality joint programs. There is a firm commitment from the leadership of all four schools to develop and extend this partnership.
The school is committed to a locally developed Learning Model that supports the department's priorities and reflects community aspirations. The model informs the teaching and learning practices of staff and students within the school.
  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach Music (MUS), Music Extensions 1 and 2 (MUE) and Entertainment Industry - General (VNG).
  2. Ability to establish and implement explicit teaching methods to support the learning of all students.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to effectively use technology to deliver high quality teaching and learning programs, lessons, and resources.
  4. Proven ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to contribute to whole-school initiatives.
      
    Conditions 

    An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
