Key Responsibilities Include:
- Planning and preparing courses and lessons.
- Teaching, according to their educational needs, the pupils assigned to you, including the
- Setting and marking of work carried out by the pupils in School and elsewhere.
- Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of pupils in accordance with School policy.
- Setting, with the pupil and where possible the parent, short term targets for learning which take into account prior attainment.

Located in the city of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, Wickersley School and Sports College is a co-educational secondary academy. With over 2000 pupils aged 11-18, around 500 of whom reside in the school’s sixth form, Wickersley is much larger than the average secondary school. The school also provides specialist provision for hearing-impaired pupils, as well as a small amount of off-site provision for students with particular educational needs. The school converted to an academy in 2014, but is not part of any multi-academy trust.

Wickersley School has, as its main aim, the desire to equip every student with the necessary skills and understanding to succeed in the world of work. This is achieved through close co-operation with the local community, and a challenging learning environment. The school also values more traditional educational principles, and sets high expectations of its pupils and staff with regards to behaviour, manners and self-motivation. As a sports college, a large part of the extra-curricular activities on offer at Wickersley revolve around sports, with over 20 different types on offer, and regular competitive sporting events being held.
