Paradigm Trust is looking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Teacher of Fresh Start into the team at Ipswich Academy in 2024.

The Position

You will be carrying out the professional duties of a class teacher and as such will provide the provision of an appropriate learning experience for all pupils under the guidance of the Assistant Principal.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the duties of the Teacher of Fresh Start position. These include:

  • the ability to teach consistently good phonics lessons;
  • the ability to be a proactive team member committed to raising standards and achievement;
  • excellent organisational skills;
  • strong and effective communication skills;
  • the willingness to share strengths and learning with colleagues; and
  • the ability to show initiative and flexibility and be highly professional.


Unqualified teacher applications with experience will also be considered.

Ipswich Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Suffolk, serving students from the age of 11-16. It belongs to the Paradigm Trust, along with four other primary and secondary academies.

Formerly Holywell High School, Ipswich Academy converted to academy status in 2010. The Learning Schools Trust invested £16 million into a new building at the school, which opened in 2013, with facilities including a 3G sports pitch area. It belongs to the Paradigm Trust, along with six other academies.
