Job Overview

  • Are you a highly skilled, creative and ambitious Teacher of Geography?
  • Are you able to teach Geography to KS3 and 4 as part of our highly regarded Geography curriculum?
  • Are you seeking your first teaching job or looking to move to a new school which will support your development and growth as a teacher?
  • Do you have a passion for teaching and a commitment to providing students an exceptional experience?
  • Do you want to join a team of dedicated, talented teachers in a well-resourced department where schemes of work and lesson resources are ready to use to help you deliver an exciting, challenging curriculum?
  • Do you believe in an inclusive environment where all learners can be successful?
  • Would you like to work in a school where “Leaders, including Governors, value the work of staff and where new teachers speak highly of the support they are given”? (Ofsted June 2023)
  • Are you looking to work in a thriving and well-regarded school where staff well-being is central to all of our decision making?

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes” then we would love to hear from you.

Waingels, a popular 11-18 school where students achieve above national average and was identified as “continuing to be good” in a recent OFSTED inspection, is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Geography to add further capacity to this highly successful, popular subject.

This is an exciting opportunity for either a newly qualified teacher (ECT), or a more experienced teacher seeking a new challenge or experience. We would consider full or part- time teachers.

Geography is taught as a stand-alone subject in Key Stage 3 and is a very popular choice at GCSE and A-Level. The successful candidate would teach across the Key Stages and A-Level teaching is available to the right candidate.

Working with us offers you the opportunity to:

  • Join a “kind and caring school” where pupils “enjoy being part of the inclusive community” (OFSTED 2023) that aims to be an “exceptional school at the heart of our community”.
  • Be part of a forward-thinking department with well-resourced schemes of work and where teachers are given autonomy and are encouraged to be innovative and try out a range of teaching styles.
  • Engage in excellent, personalized, professional development opportunities.
  • Join a school where early finishes for parent consultation evenings and free tea and coffee every day are just some of the ways we aim to support staff well-being.
  • Work in a school that has been designated a “Leading” school for Personal Development by Challenge Partners.
  • Work in a school where the values of Respect, Kindness, Pride and Responsibility underpin all we do.

If you feel your value and ethos align with ours, this is an exciting opportunity for you to pursue and advance your career.

Our staff and students are proud of our school and we would be happy to welcome you if you would like to come and have a closer look. Please feel free to contact us for an informal conversation about this exciting role. Please telephone the school on 0118 969 0336 or email the HR Administrator, Mollie Williams, on HRandrecruitment@waingels.wokingham.sch.uk.

Download an application pack from our website https://www.waingels.wokingham.sch.uk/

We will review applications as they are submitted, so you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
