John Ruskin School (JRS) is a secondary, oversubscribed, small and high performing school situated in Coniston, in the heart of The Lake District. We are looking to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic and multi-skilled colleague to lead our PE curriculum area, who is:

 John Ruskin School was rated as good by Ofsted, describing us in 2019 as a place where, ‘Staff and students are highly motivated to do their best and everyone thrives’.

 

The PE department has two teachers who work closely together to deliver an engaging and fully accessible curriculum in KS3 and KS4. We are an inclusive school and our lessons are tailored to a full range of ability. Our recent whole school priorities have included the development of oracy and vocabulary and this is reflected in how all teachers approach their lessons.

About John Ruskin School

Located in Coniston, Cumbria, John Ruskin School is a high-performing and small secondary school. With approx. 240 pupils aged 11-16, it boasts a range of teaching and recreational facilities and activities in a great Lake District location. Staff are able to swim, run, walk, cycle at the end of a school day; cars can be left on site until the gates are closed. Parking on site for staff is free of charge. We value staff development and will work with you on CPD opportunities.
