Full Time

St Anne’s School, Alderney is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and well-qualified, specialist graduate teacher with the vision and energy to deliver high standards of teaching and learning in Mathematics, and to make a full contribution to the ethos, identity and life of the School and to the Guernsey Federation of Secondary Schools.

The four island 11-16 High Schools, the Guernsey Grammar School & Sixth Form Centre (11-18), and St Anne’s School in Alderney work as a federated model of partnership working led by the Director of Education.

The drivers in secondary phase education for this visionary change are:

  • Quality of educational experience and outcomes
  • Equality of opportunity and access
  • Efficient and effective use of resources

The person appointed will be employed by the States of Guernsey and will be based at St Anne’s School and will be required to maximise opportunities for collaborative working, teaching and learning across key stages and shared professional development across schools. There is an expectation that they will engage in cross-school initiatives which may require working on more than one site to meet the needs of the Education Service.

The post holder will be required to teach throughout all Key Stages. You will be able to excite and challenge learners to make rapid progress and will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning. We are looking for someone who is passionate about raising learners’ individual achievements with innovative ideas to build on existing good practice.

St Anne’s is a unique school and holds a special place in educating the children and serving the community of our Island. Staff and pupils know each other well and are relaxed in an environment which is comfortable and friendly. Within this atmosphere high expectations of our pupils can be realised. We believe that the size of the school allows pupils to receive individual attention and encourages good relationships. Flexibility can allow for real involvement in a child’s learning.

The atmosphere we aim to create is one of a large family where every member of the school is valued and feels a sense of belonging. It is a place where learning is at the heart and where both adults and children strive to acquire new skills and knowledge.

Relocating to Alderney from the UK or EEA is very straightforward.  There are no immigration barriers and no restrictions on property purchase.  A relocation package is available to successful eligible applicants and further information about living in Alderney can be found here  http://www.alderney.gov.gg/relocate  https://www.visitalderney.com/
